Determining Which Type of Cool Roof is Most Effective for Maximizing the Amount of Heat Reflected and Therefore Minimizing Energy Use Based on Different Environmental Factors and Tilt of Roof

During my freshman year I took “Introduction to Science Research,” where I conducted an individual study on different types of cooling roofs and their effects on urban heat islands. I analyzed green roofing, white reflective roofing, solar roofing, and asphalt by measuring surface temperatures under a heat light stimulating the sun.
